Premium Toilet
The thunder's roaring outside. It's gonna be quite a downpour if it rains later. I'm on leave this whole week. Ahhh...these sweet and carefree days. Wish it could lasts forever. I've been out alot since I got back last week. Just managed to get online. My area is still new...there's no fixed phone service just yet...thus, I've just subscribe to Maxis's Unlimited Data Package plan. Getting online on my GPRS, it's not alot faster than normal dialup...but hey...it's better than nothing. RM120 per month - pretty costly compared to Streamyx where you get ADSL for only RM88.
Went to KLCC last Monday...and was surprised to see something like this:
Premium toilets?! Never have I heard of such a thing before...it costs RM2 per entry! Gosh...what could you possibly do in there? Do they give out 'wet wipes' for those 'premium' bottoms? Or do they serve tea? Another valued service for the upper class...or should i say 'bottom'?

My one year older self
So my birthday came and went...nothing much has changed just yet...except the fact that i'm now a year older...or wiser like some said. Somehow, I don't think I'm any wiser than before. Had a quiet celebration this year. Quiet as in the atmosphere...went to Euro Deli in Damansara Kim. It's good...i like quiet spots now. Unlike the past few years, we were out and about to clubs and all. I'm just not too much in the mood for that nowadays. Guess I am really getting old. My friends booked that place for 8pm...we arrived at 9. By then that place was crowded and every table was already taken up...a friend called another outlet in Uptown instead, they said we can just head over as it wasn't jammed and packed there. So we did. Surpisingly, this outlet was a complete opposite of the one in Damansara Kim. This place is almost empty! Only two or three small tables were occupied when we went in. We're the biggest crowd there. Each of us ordered something different. When the food came, we found ourselves cutting and slicing away our piece in the plate and transferring it across the table to each and everyone's. Sharing the taste is not a bad idea...but in this case, I wonder if we're trying to share the 'load' too. I ordered the Pork Knuckle, my friend recommended...and i swear i'm not gonna take any pork for at least a week after that.

Roast Pork Knuckle
We talked for almost non-stop during dinner and after ...till the shop owner chased us out, they are closing at 10. My friends paid the bill and we headed outside the shop...and we talk some more. We stood outside the shop for at least 10 minutes or so, talking. Geezz...my friends can really talk sometimes. Finally, we all decided we have not talked enough...(or they felt kinda bad to let me go home so early) so we went to this place called the 'Backyard' in Sri Hartamas. Man...this place is full of old geezers. We went in, got ourselves a pretty comfortable spot to sit and suddenly we realized that the place is full of people in their mid 30s and 40s. We were like a bunch of kids there in a grown-up's playground. The songs they were playing were oldies too...well, not really oldies...there's elvis, lighthouse and some other 80s stuff. We ordered a couple of drinks...and I started to yawn. It's past my bedtime...and its only 11:15pm. I felt like going home to sleep. My friends were 'woi'-ing me...telling me to snap out of it...that it's my big day...I shouldn't feel that way. But I do and I couldn't help it. I was really tired. After persuading my friends that they have work to do the next day...all of us agreed to leave at 12. The fact is, we didn't...we dragged till it's almost 12:30am...cause we were too indulged in another conversation, yet again.

Count the candles
Last night, I had a warm pre-celebration for my birthday. My fellow colleagues brought me to a shanghai noodle house here and even got me a birthday cake. I'm more than happy. The dinner was not something big or anything, but it's what I like best...simple.

This reminds me of how old i am.
I had a new haircut last night. Something new to start my NEW year off. Now my hair is shorter than what I used to have last year. Somehow, my head is so much lighter and I can feel the air flowing around me through my ears. Ahhhh...it's like a relief. I shocked the rest of the folks here today. Most of them made a comment when they saw me this morning. Well, they'll get over it...eventually. Just like they got over my permed hair last year. It's not easy for me to accept too...I needed some time to get accustomed to my new hairstyle. Bright side is, I finally get the chance to make full use of my 'professional' hair wax. It works better on short hair.

The lucky me
This morning is one of those morning which you feel like you can sleep the whole day through. The sky is still kinda gloomy even at 7am, usually it'll be so bright and the sun would already be a quarter or so up in the eastern sky.

Cloudy - quite unlike the sky
Tomorrow I'll be going home. Seems like I've been here for a long long time. Every trip seems to grow longer now. Yeah, I think I've said this more than once now. Still remember I had dinner with Old Thing at Sizzler on her birthday when I arrived this trip. That was end of March...but it seems like so long ago. Anyway, it's all good now...this trip I'll be quite occupied when I get home.
This Friday, I have a bunch of friends who has laid out a whole night of events for me. For my big day is near. I was told not to worry about a single thing...just get myself ready by 7pm...there would be someone to come pick me up...and the rest would be all taken care of. Geee...the friends that I have...I'm glad. Saturday, there will be another post-celebration. And Sunday, well...Sunday I've gotta attend someone else's celebration instead...a dear friend's wedding.
My colleagues here have been asking me what I want for my big day. Well...There's nothing much that I want for my birthday really. I know I have a bunch of great colleagues too. They are all good folks. Tonight we are goin out for dinner. They have been asking me what would I like to have, but I really couldn't think of anything that I would like to eat. Hmmm....hopefully, they'll come up with something...I know they would.
I'm just feeling lucky, I've all these people around me.

The Incredible Popeman
Tuesday Blur. I expect to get pretty busy today. There's a UAT with the users. So usually, time flies when u're entertaining others...or being entertained. In this case, I don't think I'll get any entertainment out of it. Well, at least I don't have to stare at the clock as it ticks. It's tormenting. I've been not-so-productive lately, I know. My mood swing gets pretty frequent nowadays. I must contain myself. Must keep my emotions in-checked. Blurting out offensive words all the time may backfire someday. Somehow...I think that day is near. I should try reducing that.
The world is getting busy lately. News about the Pope, the Japanese and Chinese conflict, the India-Pakistan dispute and occasional tremor in the Indonesian islands. Each of these, is not your regular, small-time news. Tension is high. I'm not talking about world peace nor writing about how to promote it. Without all these 'excitements'...this world would be a boring one. Suprisingly, as I heard...the late Pope, the vatican leader...used to be an actor in his younger days. How does an actor ended up being a Pope anyway? Maybe because he was not popular when he was an actor...so he thought being a catholic leader would grant him those attention and popularity that he wants? Hmm...I don't know...I guess now that he's gone, no one would ever know for sure. Nevertheless, that doesn't matter as long as he did good to the world. I guess thats why he became a comic figure now. He must have earned tons of respect from the Christian community or perhaps from all the people in this world, despite your religion. That I'm not sure, I'm never much of a religious person nor am I someone who reads the news often. I don't even know who the Pope was until he was gone. Guess I'm just being too ignorant. Colour me monday
It's chilly today. The air conditioner is blowing at its max, just right above where I'm sitting. Have made myself a cup of hot tea after lunch. Primarily, to warm my ice-cold fingers. Haven't been doing much today. Just chatting and surfing mostly. Occasionally I'd look at my IDE, change a few lines of code...compile...and let it stay cold for another 30mins or so. Been repeating this process since this morning. Monday perhaps? Hmmm...I don't know, I never really have that kinda Monday Blue believes. When you're slacking off, you're slacking off. Blame it on Monday...and when Tuesday comes? Just heard the one opposite me saying...Tuesday would be Tuesday Blur. See what I mean?
Recently, I came upon an article of my interest - ancient egypt. I'm a fanatic. I named my devices according to those names of ancient egyptian gods and goddesses. Sometimes i would ask myself ... could I be an egyptian in my past life? I've never been too obsessed about a certain thing. Not like this.
Anyway back to the article....Apparently, the name "Imhotep" was the name of the architect who designed the first pyramid - The Step Pyramid.
(sounds familiar? Remember that evil guy from the box office - The Mummy and The Mummy Returns?) After this architect's death, somehow he ended up to a God of Medicine and was worshipped for more than 2000 years. Discovery - Mummy Detectives
In ancient times, things are so much simpler and people are just so easily deceived. If we have the technology to go back in time, I'd like to see how it's like there and then. I'm sure there are quite a number of others who think the same too. The show - Time Machine, a few years back ... some said its crap...but I find it quite interesting...and amusing at the same time...watching the scene at the window display of the garment store across the street changes as the time traveller lapses into time...that part alone sums up the whole 'greatness' about that show. Was browsing through google just now, seems like there is another episode of "Time Machine" back in the 1960s. Haven't seen that though, wonder how it's like. Hmmm...come to think of it, there wasn't any interesting movie showing lately...the only thing I'm looking forward to is the Star Wars: Episode 3 : Revenge of Sith. Hopefully it is something which is worth waiting this long for.
